Excellent stuff Steve. Yama also God of Death in Hinduism. You might like this book about Vikings, particularly cos Ukraine is a big part of the story. https://www.theguardian.com/books/2020/dec/22/children-of-ash-and-elm-by-neil-price-review-the-vikings-on-their-own-terms

Thank you Gopal🙏🏾 Will read that Guardian article with interest. Yama is a more friendly Lord of Death / first self-sacrificing king in the Rg Veda / early Sanskrit tradition. By contrast, by the time the Sakha/Iranian reform of the Vedic Sanskrit tradition by Sakymuni/the Buddha, Yama re-appears as the scary figure he was originally in the guise of Zarathustra’s Aryaman (1,400 BCE). Either way, Ar(Yama)n is essential to the Power of Mana!! And many scholars believe Aryaman is cognate with Ireland’s first Indo-European High King/of Kings Erimon: https://www.powerofmana.net/p/who-was-menua
